Olympic gold medalist skiers Jayla Stone and Rush Remington have been best friends for years. They've seen each other at their best and worst and have kept each other's secrets without fail. Only there's one secret Rush has kept close to his chest. After months of introspection, Rush realizes he's been filling his bed but not tending to his heart. He's changed his womanizing ways, and the only woman who can fill his heart has been right by his side all this time.

Years of intimate conversations and the sharing of hopes and dreams collide when Rush reveals his secret, and one toe-curling kiss changes everything between Rush and Jayla. They're no match for the passion that kiss ignites, or the pull of true love. But being Rush's best friend means knowing all about his revolving bedroom door--and Jayla has a secret of her own that could jeopardize her career and her relationship with Rush. Even their love may not be enough to overcome Rush's past or secure Jayla's future.

My Thoughts….

“I love you, Jayla. I think I always have.”

I fell in love with this series with the first Remington book. I didn’t think it could get better than Dex and Ellie. I liked the others but they were my favorite couple until I read Slope of Love. Jayla and Rush are probably my new favorite. It might be because I’m biased though. Best friends turned lovers are probably my favorite stories to read. This story was a cute and heartfelt. It was so much fun to read!

Jayla Stone

Jayla is a competitive skier and has been in love with Rush since she was thirteen. She has put her feelings aside because he has always been a love ’em and leave ‘em type of guy. Their friendship has always been more important, until Rush wakes up and wants everything she has always wanted. Jayla has a secret that could end her career. Never mind starting a relationship during competition season might mess up her focus.

Jayla is stubborn, strong, caring, and has a terrible habit of having tunnel vision. I loved her character. She knew what she wanted out of her skiing career and she was going to do everything to keep it, but she wasn’t so driven that she was going to give Rush up to get it. Sometimes she forgot that they were in a relationship and not just best friends anymore but that’s normal.

Rush Remington

Rush has always been in and out of women’s bed as fast as he could get. After a conversation with his brother it opens his eyes to his womanizing ways. It also opens himself up to the feelings he has been hiding from. Feelings that lead him straight to his best friend. He spends a year changing his ways so that he can prove to himself and Jayla (she doesn’t know why he has stopped sleeping with other women) that he is not the player he once was.

I loved Rush. I didn’t need him to be the alpha male that some of the other characters where. He needed to find how to take his best friend status and merge it with the boyfriend title. Jayla didn’t make it easy for him either. She was too stubborn to let him do the things a normal boyfriend would. Eventually he found his way and put his foot down. He was so caring and sweet to Jayla as she was going through her injury. Definitely one of my favorites.

As your reading this book you can’t help be see how realistic this book is. The relationship between Jayla and Rush felt genuine and realistic all the way through the book. It was not a piece of cake to move their relationship to the next level and I liked it like that. The story didn’t feel stretched or too short. The flow was great and the dialogue between the characters was funny and sweet as well.

For those of you who have read The Braden and The Snow Sisters series, you will get in update on the couples in this book as well.

I loved this book and I can’t wait to read Kurt’s book!!!

“I wanted to be right there with you, taking care of you, every second of every day. You’re my everything.”
