Anna James is single again, finally. In her opinion, men are self-centered and will never love her for who she is, a beautiful, plus sized woman. All except the fantasy man that she’s been meeting in her dreams for five years.

She just never expected her fantasy to be a real live alpha shifter...

Cade Le Beau isn't what he seems. He’s a billionaire wolf. A Shifter. He laments his missed chance six months ago to meet his fantasy woman in the flesh. Just as his second chance presents itself, his fantasy woman, his mate, is threatened by the local mob boss and her ex-husband. Now, he has forty eight hours to deal with this threat once and for all or chance losing her again.

Is it Anna who’s in danger, or the humans who unwittingly threaten her?

The heat is on the moment they lay eyes on each other. Neither, age, children, horrid ex-husbands, nor mob bosses will stop this love affair.

Anna has spent most of her life with a nasty cheating husband. She only stuck around so that her kids could grow up in a two parent household. Now she is free. She moves to New Orleans looking for a clean start and a new chance at love. She has been having dreams of a sexy shifter for five years and to her surprise she finds him in New Orleans.

Cade is a shifter. He has been having dreams of a beautiful woman for five years. He sees her in New Orleans one day but runs to meeting instead of taking his chance. Six months later he sees her again. In a bar that he owns. He takes his chance and finds his mate. The other half to his soul.

I thought that this book was really interesting. I am a hopeless romantic and finding a series that focus’ mainly on the romance was great. Add the paranormal and some drama and you have the makings of a great book. V.A. Dold’s writing style was fluid and done really well. While the main focus was the romance she also had other smaller side stories that she added to keep you interested in the book. Her ex. The mob. And Cade’s family.

The characters were done really well. They were believable and relatable. I think that people will find that the heroine is actually the most relatable. She’s strong and she knows how to defend herself without relying on Cade. I loved how Dold introduced characters and added problems that were not answered in the one book. Usually when you get family style series you see the main couple and then their problems are pretty much over. But when reading this book she added storylines that could continue into the remaining books.

This book was a really enjoyable read. If you like shifters, soul mates, and romance with a little bit of drama mixed in this is the book for you. I will definitely be reading more from this series and author.
