Taken By Love

(Love in Bloom book 15: The bradens book 7)
By,
Melissa Foster
4.5 Stars!!!!

Daisy Honey fled Trusty, Colorado, after years of battling rumors sparked by her gorgeous looks and lust-inducing name. Now a physician on the brink of a promising career, she reluctantly returns home when her father is injured in a farming accident. Daisy expects the small-town girls who hurt her in the past to take cheap shots again--but she's completely unprepared for a run-in with tall, dark, and wickedly sexy Luke Braden, the only man who has ever stood up for her--and the man she's never forgotten.

Luke Braden is handsome, wealthy, and the best damn gypsy horse breeder in the Midwest. After a restless youth, he's finally ready to settle down--only connecting with women is nothing like connecting with horses, and he's never met a woman worth the energy. After an arrest in a neighboring town, Luke's past comes back to haunt him, and he realizes that his inability to find love runs deeper than he ever imagined.

A chance encounter sweeps Luke and Daisy into a world of passion. For the first time ever, Luke feels a connection, but Daisy's life in Trusty is anything but permanent, and Luke can't manage a future until he puts his past to rest.

My Thoughts…

I am so glad that I started doing these blog tours because I feel like I would have missed Melissa Foster otherwise. I read books like these all the time. You know, the books where the series is based on a family or a group of people make up the series but each person's book is a stand-alone. I love them. It is a way to learn about all of the couples but still meet new people and read through and live new romances and lives. Melissa Foster seemed to be one that I had missed. And it is a shame but I am happy to say that I am now catching up on her books. And if you have read my blog or any of my reviews you know I love her books. This one is no exception. This was a great addition to the Braden Family series!!!

Daisy Honey

Daisy is a new doctor ready to move on to big and better towns that have more exciting cases then a small town can give her. But she ends up back home, in her small town, after her father falls off his tractor. She takes a job at the urgent-care clinic while she helps her father on the farm and with his rehab. (If he ever lets her) She has not reason or desire to get stuck back in a small town where she was bullied for the way she looked all through high school. Then she runs into Luke Braden. The one person that stood up for her in high school. The man she has had a secret crush on since high school. Despite all of her reasons not to she goes out on a date with Luke and then the magic happens. Hahahaha

I feel like Daisy's character felt like a real person to me. Someone who is bullied in high school doesn't deserve it and I can understand why she is really reluctant to forget about it. It showed something about her character that she came home anyway. She was absolutely miserable in that town and she came back anyway to help her father around the farm. This story was as much about romance as it was about Daisy learning to forgive and move forward in her life. It was nice watching her learn to forgive and make her choices based on what would make her happy and not making them based on running from something.

Luke Braden

Luke has his own set of problems. He is ready to settled down and start his life with his ranch and a women he can really love. The only problem is that everyone know about the arrest that he didn't deserve and he can't seem to connect with any of the women in town. He has tried dating outside of town but none of those women are any better. He can't seem to understand them and for some reason he has reason to try to understand them. Until Daisy Honey runs into him in a diner. He seems to know her but can't figure it out in the beginning until he remembers that night at the party. Even though he knows that she is leaving in a few weeks he wants to get to know her better anyway. When he does he realizes he has his own demons that he needs to put to rest before they can move on as a couple.

Luke. Luke Braden. Totally in love with Luke Braden. He was sexy, sweet, caring, and protective. Everything you want in a man. (fictional or not) I loved his character. He was always there to help someone if they needed it. Whether it was a women getting treated badly, Daisy's father, or Daisy herself. Luke was always there for everyone. Luke was always honest with Daisy. It is really rare when a male character is willing to express his emotions but Luke did it so well. He also knew his limitations and he was honest about them. Luke was really understanding about Daisy's job and what she thought her dreams were. Luke was always willing to put in the work to make their relationship work.

The romance in Melissa Foster's books always get me. They always feel real and she doesn't ever feel the need for the over the top drama. Yes they couple had their bumps they were trying to work through but they were realistic problems. I wasn't at 60% of the book and waiting for everything to fall apart like most contemporary romances out there. I love drama but it is always nice to pick up a more realistic book now and then. The steamy scene were great too. I have been reading a lot of books that were more or less pretty clean even if they said they weren't. I have also been reading a lot of books that have felt like the chemistry and sex was forced and not believable. Foster seems to write all of these books, including this one, and not one of them felt forced. The whole book was amazing and the sex scenes were hot and steamy and chemistry filled!

I would recommend that everyone and anyone who like any type of romance pick up these books!
