Enflame Review

Enflame
By,
Jamie magee

4.5 stars!

Goodreads
Return to the world of Insight with ENFLAME, the sixth installment of the addictive story that brings you to the forefront of your darkest fears and cradles you in the belief that each of us has our own divine fates.

Enflame opens breaths after the final chapter of Vindicate. Both Willow and Landen are rocked with unthinkable grief as they struggle to find balance in the wake of their Mars deadly trials.

The Realm showed no mercy on this fated couple. Landen's mind was awakened; a past he'd rather not remember was revealed to his soul. Giving the darker side of his peaceful being no choice but to seize control and give birth to a fierce warrior, who vows to show no mercy, as he fights for those he has sworn to guide and protect.

These new found revelations bring forth more than a dark awareness. Old souls from a fiery past come forth and reveal how they are tightly woven into the curse that torments Willow and Landen's every breath. These admissions threaten the foundation of this ordained couple - invoking emotions that are deeper and darker than any past conflict this pair has faced thus far.

Within this jaded confluence both Willow and Landen must refocus their strengths, overcome heated emotions, and weather through the karmic law of life. The only thing standing in their way is scornful jealousies and wrathful grudges that have the influence to empower them either under the commanding rays of Jupiter or divides two souls that are created to be one. With seized breath, those that have placed their faith in this dynamic couple wait for their future to unfold.

My Thoughts ...

"You are me. I am you. You have more than a say. What you feel, I feel-and together we are unstoppable."

Wow, wow, wow

Jamie Magee has done it again. This is the 6th installment in the Insight series. It Also is the 11th installment in The Web of Heart and Souls  series. I love this series. It is one of my favorites Especially  with all the other books That have other POVs.I have a bit of an obsession with this book. (well any book really) But especially this one. Even if I don't read them right away I buy them the minute they come out because I have to know I have them. They are that good. It's a must read for everyone. Now back to the book....

We come into the story literally minutes after Vindicate. Willow and Landen are about to go through a major heartbreak. When I started this book I was a little apprehensive. If you have read my review of Vindicate I was not happy with the way Willow's family had treated her when she was going through having Landen and Drake in The Realm.

I am one of those people that have fictional friends and Willow is one of them. Hahaha. Pretty sad
So I end up being protective of her. I had a problem with the way even Landen was treating her When he got back. I feel like everyone is trying to keep her in a glass box because of her emotions. But she will never learn to control them if no one trusts her to learn. She seems to be left out of the loop a lot and no one takes the time to actually tell her anything. I know there are things she doesn't want to know but keeping her out as much as they are isn't helping her control either.

"I felt like a spoiled brat, someone who did not deserve Landen. Maybe they were right. Maybe I was a walking tragedy."

I hated this line.
That she even felt like that for even a second was horrible.

Other than that I was amazingly happy with this book. I loved the new characters. Phoenix was great. Hilarious once I go past the way he treated Willow in the beginning. He cared about Landen and Because He cared about Landed he cared a lot about Willow. I loved how he called her Sunshine.

I actually liked Skylynn too. Not the parts where she threw Landen and her relationship to her face. I got the feeling that Willow and Skylynn Could be friends if she did not make the mistake of getting together with Landen. I think she genuinely cares about what happens to them but she is so focused on finding her other (I'm not telling you who it is, read it and find out * wink, wink *)

I feel like Landen could be considered a new character as well. There is a whole other side to Landen that we are learning about. This side is fiercely protective, of Willow. And of everyone else. Also it can be dark and dangerous. It is an exciting and new part of the book. He's changing but the Landen that we have grown to love is still in there. It was a shock at first but I like where his character is going.

"Promise me you'll open yourself up, let her see the real you. The one I see right now."
An embarrassed grin invaded his image addictive. "And how am I supposed to do that?"
"You'll figure it out. I should not be the one that only sees side of you."
"Are you telling me to live a little?" he asked with an allure in his eyes.

I loved that the triangle between Willow and Drake is over. I love Drake, do not get me wrong, but I love that that tension is over even more. Now they can be the close friends that they were meant to be. They need each other to push each other to the limit. Everyone needs to be passionate about something and they help bring that out in each other. It is going to take a while to get over the past love that they had but I have faith that they can do it.

This book was amazing. It was a great installment in the series and I can not wait for the next one. I had some minor issues but other than those the book was just spectacular. I have read every book and will continue to read the ones past this one. I am nervous to read Redefined but we will see how that goes. This book is a must read for anyone that loves a good paranormal book. And for anyone that needs a good romance book. Is not like anything that is out there right now. This series consumes you and doesn't let you go.
And you do not want it to.

"I had no idea how damaged I was, how damaged Madison was, but I knew one thing: with souls like Landen and Drake to protect and love us, we would not be broken for long-and God help the evil we were fighting when we regained our strength once more."

The girl next door ...

Distraction from her heartache comes in the form of her parents' neighbor. Whispers about "odd Owen Campbell" abound in Their small community, and Sarah's curiosity is aroused. When she breaks the rules and trespasses onto His land, what she finds is beyond her wildest imaginings.

As Sarah struggles to overcome tragedy and loss, her burgeoning relationship with Owen is sorely tested. Will love conquer all, or will the secrets from Owen's past tear them apart forever?

That cover is just beautiful! Sometimes I can be a snob longer available to cover Hahaha!

And Now For The Excerpt .....

Checking back over her shoulder after a few steps, Sarah frowned When the deer continued to mimic her path. Dismissing the incident as the curiosity of a young wild deer That Had not yet learned humans were the enemy, she let her mind drift. Before long, she heard the sound of water trickling over rocks Rapidly, and as she rounded a curve, she saw a small stream curving through the mountainside. The branch of water cut into a shallow hollow, one side protected by a higher ledge of earth That was full of mountain laurel.

Sarah stopped to take in the sight and drew in a cleansing breath. As she Looked around, she Realized the deer had Followed her and stopped a short distance away. The bench of land it stood on converged with the deer path alongside the stream.

If Sarah Had not known better, she would have sworn the deer wore a look of consternation. The animal bent ITS head to nibble at some greenery on the ground, but kept her eyes on the ITS. It Seemed almost to glance between her and the water, as though weighing the danger of coming closer for a drink.

"Maybe if I turn away, you'll feel bolder." The deer crossed the path branch at a narrow point, and she Decided to go a bit further. The water cascaded down a small waterfall above the narrow point, pooling in a shallow area That would be the perfect spot for a thirsty deer to get a cooling drink. Hopping across the water, Sarah Followed the trail. To her surprise, the path did not continue to the flat bench on the other side of the small ridge, but Climbed up and around the rocky outcropping. Curious, she Climbed the incline. The sight Took her breath away, and for a moment, she did not believe what was in front of her was real.

The rocky outcropping the water cascaded down was a sort of natural dam. ITS On other side, a large pool of water had collected. Fifteen feet across and nearly That wide again going in the opposite direction, the pool was surrounded by sloping granite on all sides except the front, where the water dropped over the edge. The water was blue-green, going from light to deeper aqua cobalt, and the banks of rock and earth protected it on all sides.

On the opposite side, a craggy granite cliff rose about ten feet out of the water, overhanging slightly to form a shallow cave. The mountain Seemed to curve around the pool and, mesmerized, Sarah continued around, crossing the branch once more at a point above the pool. From there, she was Able to climb on top of the granite boulder That created the cliff. Easing to the edge, she carefully sat down, her legs dangling over the side.

When the curious deer Appeared at the edge of the pool below, Sarah laughed. The deer gave a small jerk at the sound, eyeing her warily.

"I'm sorry." She felt utterly insane, carrying on a conversation with a deer, but it had Followed her like a curious puppy. Sarah Realized That keeping quiet would feel even blackberries absurd. "It's so beautiful here. I had no idea any place like this Existed. "She Looked around, noticing the trees That did not arch out over the pool the way she thought they would have.

"I'll bet it's really hot here in the summer, and that water feels so good and cool. Or does the pools dry up, I wonder? "

For a while, she just sat, braced back on her hands, her face lifted to the sky. The peace imbued in the place washed over her. When she felt ready, she let herself remember Kathy's words to Paul, and their laughter. The memory made Sarah sad and still made her cringe with embarrassment, but she Realized That She did not feel quite as angry about it as she had.

"Thank you, God, for letting me hear That today. At least I do not have to face Paul until Monday, "she said to the sky. "And ... and maybe, if that's what he likes, then maybe he's not as special as I thought he was. Let him have His buxom girls. At least I do not look like a milk cow, unlike someone I could name. "

A snort came from below, and Sarah jumped. She'd forgotten the deer. Looking down, she saw That it had moved to the edge of the exposed granite and settled down on a soft patch of leaves.

"What are you snorting at?"

When the deer shook ITS head, Sarah laughed. Even though she knew it was probably batting flies away With its ears, the deer ACTED almost human.

She glanced down at her watch and was shocked When she saw the time. She was going to have to run in order to make it home in time for supper. With a muted curse That She'd heard her father say when he hit His thumb with the hammer, she scrambled to her feet and Looked around. Another bench ran down from the opposite side of the boulder where She'd come up and fell naturally into the one the deer had been on When She'd first seen it.

"That saves me a little time." With one last look at the deer, Which had gotten to the ITS feet When Sarah did, she headed down the bench. "I'll come back someday," she promised over her shoulder. "Try not to get shot or anything."

That for a day had gone so badly, she thought as she ran, things had turned out to be okay.

***

For a long time after the girl had gone, Owen stood on the edge of the pool, looking after her. With His enhanced hearing, Could he follow her progress down the trail and back onto Browning land.

He did not know what to think. He'd never encountered another human in all the time he'd Been exploring the woods. His parents had seen to That over the years, as no one dared onto Campbell His father's property without permission. Now that the property belonged to Owen, he guessed he was the one who'd have to do something about trespassers.

He bent His neck, taking another sip from the water. As the girl had guessed, it was cool and delightful.

Owen sighed, a sound That came out in deer form, much as it did When He was human. The pool was one of His favorite places to roam, one of His safe places. If the girl came back as she promised, he did not know what it would mean for him. He could not risk being caught, and he was not willing to give up His solitude. If the girl threatened that ... he hated the thought of having to go to her parents, but if it came to That, he'd do it.

Always and Forever By, S.P Cervantes Review

*I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Always and Forever

Secrets of Shadow Hill

SP Cervantes

3.5 Stars!

The Blurb ....
Twin sisters Ava and Hannah were ripped from seeming Their peaceful lives into a whirlwind of attacks and war only to learn the real truth about Their existence.
Nothing Seemed as it was anymore and may never be again. Already they had lost Their father in childhood now they have to cope with Their mother's kidnapping as they watch Those sworn to protect them Risk Their Lives.

My Thoughts ....

I thought this book was pretty good. The plot of the story really grabbed my attention. I am not one to read about wizards Often I know this was a very new thing for me. I loved the world That Describing Dalton started out to us. I am a huge fan of alternating POVs and Cervantes did it flawlessly. Some of it overlapped but it was only parts I was wishing I Knew what the other was thinking. The story was interesting and it was easy to go sucked into the story. I liked it That Took place in Ireland and Dalton, Ava, and Hannah had Their Lives intertwined even before they Knew each other. The story was tragic, hilarious, intense, and beautiful.

Dalton McGregor

"She looked so peaceful, so breakable ... like an angel."

I loved Dalton. He was protective and loving When He even thought That Ava was still with Patrick. He was very understanding and did not push her on Their feelings until he felt he needed them to be known.

"But I do love her with every inch of my being. Whatever or whoever she chooses, I will protect her forever. "

He was so incredibly sweet. I had no problems with him When it came to the story.

Ava Fox

Now this is where my problems with the story come from. I thought her character was great. She was loyal and strong in the face of learning about another world she did not even know Existed. excepted She That this was real with no real problems. Once she got to Ireland she was an emotional wreck but she worked through Those emotions and was still Able to learn what she needed to. The way she ACTED in the face of her crisis was believable and it was nice to see some vulnerability. The way Dalton and interacted Ava was beautiful and amazing. My only problem with her was the way she ACTED When Patrick got back. I mean I understand not wanting to rub her new relationship in His face but there was no reason to act like they were not in love. She was not really fair to either of them. Dalton and Ava are Destined Also but she did not want to let Patrick go. It was kind of Twilight-ish and it drove me nuts.

The other characters were great as well. I love Hannah. She was one of my favorites. She was bubbly and happy and was Able to enjoy life while she was Able to. She got down to business When She needed as well. I did not really understand the character of Patrick other than being an ex-boyfriend That She needed to leave behind. I feel like that is where he needed to stay. Aiden was a good one too. He was a sense of support Dalton needed. He was able to be a brother to someone who had trouble letting other people into. He Also Brought the life of the party When they had down time When Dalton was being too serious.

After reading the whole thing I liked the book. There were some things That I did not really care for but Other than that it was good. I can not wait to read the next one and hopefully the Love triangle will be toned down a bit.
