So that was sex, I liked it, I really liked it, thought Mia Page as she tried to recover from an Olympic worthy orgasm. She looked into the vivid blue eyes of sex god Gabe Austin who was still holding her up against her bedroom wall and she also thought shit what have I gone and gotten myself into? Why would anyone only want sex no strings with this guy?

Best friends Mia Page and Lexi Clarke start University and make a pact to turn over a new leaf. Tainted by their pasts, they’re going to try and get over their commitment phobias. Mia’s going to lose her virginity with hot, no strings attached sex. The rebellious Lexi’s going to try ditching her one night stands in favour of attempting to have a relationship.

What Mia didn’t count on however was Gabe Austin, confident, sexy and irresistibly gorgeous, who quickly inserts himself into her life. Inextricably drawn to each other, their desire soon leads to a passionate encounter. Gabe’s fears of abandonment and his domineering personality, along with Mia’s own fears of attachment, threaten to derail his attempts to ensure she becomes his, heart body and soul. Despite Mia’s reticence, Gabe Austin’s a guy who is used to getting what he wants. Just as he seems to have won Mia around, he goes and does something that could ruin everything.

This is a debut fictional novel for C.J. Fallowfield and combines erotica with romance and humour.

The Austin series is a new one for me. I read the synopsis and I thought I would give it a try. Mia and Lexi have been best friends forever. Lexi is the sister that Mia never had. They both leave home to go to University. Both girls have their own relationship issues or daddy issues.

Mia won’t let a guy to close to her and the minute they fall in love the relationship is over. Lexi only has one night stands. She hasn’t spent more than a night with a guy ever. And most of the time she isn’t careful when it comes to sex. They decide it’s time to deal with their problems. Mia decides to lose her virginity and only have one night stands. Lexi needs to spend more than one night with the same guy. Mia’s plans were looking like it was going to be pretty easy. She met the perfect guy to help her with her v-card problem. Until he breaks up with his girlfriend and is looking for a committed relationship.

Gabe notices Mia right away and knows he has to have her. He breaks off the relationship that he was currently in because it wasn’t working and now wants Mia. Only she only wants sex. Gabe has his own issues. He is desperately afraid of people leaving him. He needs the commitment that Mia won’t give him. His only choice is to convince her to change her mind.

This story was told from Mia’s POV but I liked that the author was telling us more than just her story in this book. It was about Mia AND Lexi, instead of just Mia and Gabe. We got to follow both girls as they try to make progress on their relationship issues. Mia and Lexi’s relationship was a hardcore one. They have only ever had each other and they were the best of friends. They stand by each other no matter what but they also tell each other the hard stuff.

Mia and Gabe’s relationship was a little iffy to me. There were times where they seemed to be fine. They were happy with all of those steamy steamy moments. I mean those two had some pretty hot bedroom time. But then they would have these unhealthy moments. Gabe was clingy and slightly controlling and Mia was a bitch and ran from any type of relationship. Their relationship just seemed to be one big mess.

Over all this was a great start to a story that is spread over multiple books. The pacing and writing was done well. The story was interesting and if you love drama this book is definitely for you. It will be interesting to see how everything plays out with Lexi, Mia, and Gabe.
