Review
This is the third and final
installment in the soulkeepers series and I was very happy with everything that
came with this book. If you haven’t read the first two, Forbidden and Awaken,
then you should go read those two first and then come back and read this one. At
the end of Awaken I was left a little disappointed with where the characters
were taken and especially Michael. So when I finally got to pick up this book I
was really nervous with what I was going to get, but there really wasn’t a need
for that. Lori Adams took this book and created a great ending. I don’t think I
could have been happier.
Unforgiven starts off immediately
after Awaken. Dante has taken Ka into the underworld where can reclaim his lost
soul mate. Now with her “soul” twin gone Sophia has to figure out a way to get
into the underworld to get her soul back. There are two things standing in her
way. Dante’s love for her past life and Michael, current love of her life and
so protective he doesn’t want her anywhere near Dante or the Underworld. Now
she has to figure out how to get her soul back without tipping off either of
them. It is going to be so much harder than she thought.
Sophia, at the end of Awaken,
was the only character I wasn’t disappointed with. She kept getting stronger
and the need to rely on Michael wasn’t there. In this book she was even
stronger. She took on the Underworld and all of the dangers that go along with
it. Sophia definitely proved why she is special and why she is a badass spirit
walker. Michael was so much better in this book. He came back to the guy we
fell in love with in the first book. He was strong and protective but he wasn’t
the jerk he was in the second book. Dante is a character that I could always do
without. I felt bad for him because he lost his soul mate and has finally found
her again but I am totally Team Michael. You can’t really root for a demon who
is trying to use her power for evil can you?
This book was filled with
action-packed nail biting goodness from beginning all the way to the end. The
cherry on top of the cake was the romance between Sophia and Michael. Lori
Adams created two characters that you couldn’t help but love. Lori Adams
created a battle between Heaven and Hell that will keep you turning the pages
until there is no more to turn. I seriously had to take breaks at so points
because there was no time to breathe. This was definitely a great ending to a
well written series!
