READ-A-LONG: The World Without a Future (Chapters 36-40) By, Nazarea Andrews

This is the second week of the the read-a-long blog tour for THE WORLD WITHOUT A FUTURE by Nazarea Andrews. This is book #1 in 'The World Without End' series. Book #2, The Horde Without End is available now and the third book in the series, The World Without Hope, will be released on November 20th.

She was born the day the world ended…

Nurrin has lived her entire life with zombies—trapped behind walls meant to keep them safe. She’s mostly happy there. But when a zombie horde breach the walls of her Haven, she has to trust her brother, Collin, and his best friend to keep her alive.

He just wants his past to die…

Finn O’Malley has given up on voicing warnings that are ignored. No one cares that the zombies are changing. Now all that matters is keeping Collin and Nurrin safe from what’s outside the walls of a Haven. But when Nurrin’s best friend picks up a contact infection, he agrees to get the medicine needed to save his life. Forced together, relying on each other in a strange Haven, zombies aren’t the most dangerous thing they’re facing.

In their world, only one thing remains true: everything ends in blood.

♥ Each site will be hosting a summary of 5 chapters from THE WORLD WITHOUT A FUTURE. You can check out Nazarea's comments on those chapters below. ♥

So. These five chapters. The first one was fun. Having Finn and Nurrin playing a loving couple was fun, and when they let go and finally (finally) make out, I was so happy I cheered. And then we get to meet Omar.

For a man who is as secretive as Finn, having a ghost from his past as large as Omar suddenly appear—that’s a big deal. Fortunately for him, Omar is on the same page with information sharing which leaves Nurrin on her own. Nurrin isn’t (as she puts it) a docile windup toy. She’s a survivor and she’s curious and she’s trusting someone—asking for information is pretty natural, and when that fails, she’ll go looking for information herself. Because she’s not a doormat.

And then, there’s the sacrifice. Because showing the brutality of the Order, and just how screwed up the post-apocolpytic world can be was important. And because Nurrin, who has been sheltered by her brother and boyfriend, needed to see how dangerous they are.

Favorite Line:

"If you risk yourself again, because you’re too fucking impulsive and childish, I'll chain you to the damn bed until its time to go home."

I blink, almost take a step back. He's got that look in his eyes, the one that is feral and disturbing.

"Do you understand me?"

"If you touch me, I'll cut your balls off and feed them to you," I whisper.

He smirks at me. "Last time I touched you, you liked it, little girl."
