Arrogant, brooding,
domineering, possessive, dangerously handsome, and a playboy. These are all of
the characteristics on Rebecca Gellar’s Run-Like-Hell list for men, but she’s
about to meet the man who’s the epitome of these and more…
After breaking off her engagement with Hollywood actor Miles Storm, Rebecca is ready for a change of scenery in her life and in her bed. So when the opportunity to work for StoneHaven Publishing, one of New York City’s most respectable publishing empires presents itself, Rebecca doesn’t hesitate moving to the Big Apple.
Convinced she can show the owner of StoneHaven Publishing that she has the "right stuff,” Rebecca agrees to a six month trial as the personal assistant to the owner’s playboy son, Nicholas StoneHaven. This is her big chance. If she can just get through these six months without strangling Nicholas with his Armani tie, she'll be okay – easier said than done. Nicholas is the last person Rebecca thought she’d find herself pining for, especially when he hits every category under her list.
Get ready for a battle of the sexes…

Review
This was my first
Vanessa Brooke read and I loved it! There were so many great things about this
bind up and I was really happy when I was finished. The synopsis doesn’t give
you much in terms of the story. It seems to be pretty vague compared to were
the story went. Either way I absolutely loved the characters and the romance in
this book.
Millionaire’s
Row #1:
I loved the opening
scene in this book. Rebecca finds her fiancé cheating on her and you know what
she does? She bunches the girl right in the face. I feel like everything that
Rebecca goes through in terms of her emotions was spot on. It wasn’t like she
just got over him in a few weeks. She had to work through that and learn to
live without someone she truly loved. I was really proud she never caved when
he came back. She was a strong and feisty character that I really liked.
“He pulls me closer, and soon, I’m so enraptured by the feeling
of his mouth on me that I forget what it feels like to breathe.”
Nicholas was a great
character. While he was liked his women I don’t think that he was a horrible
person. There was a lot more to his character then I thought. He is under a lot
of pressure from his family and his past to do whatever he can to keep the
company running. Overall there was just more to his character then I expected.
“She shifted my world upside down, turning it on its axis with
one simple kiss.”
I loved the tension.
Nothing really happened between them sexually other than a kiss but the buildup
might have been even better. The writing was done so well. I mean it has to be
if, as reader, I was content without any sex scenes. There was buildup,
tension, and so much steaminess without them ever really touching each other.
Can’t wait for the next book!
Millionaire’s Row #2:
This story keeps
getting better as we go. I love that there is so much tension between the
characters but they are also on the lines of hating each other or loving each
other. They push each other’s buttons like no one else and make them want
things they never thought possible. The prologue was great. It gave us some
background on Nicholas that I feel was needed. We could understand why he was
willing to give everything up for the company without it.
“I just can’t have her around me, because whether I like it or
not, Rebecca makes me feel like a caveman. She makes me feel like the only
thing I need to survive this cruel fucking world is the thought of being inside
her, and right now, that’s a dangerous mindset.”
This is the book
where they really start to give in. Rebecca is convinced that Nicholas will
never do anything about Alison and Nicholas doesn’t know what to do about any
of it. Rebecca knows that she could fall for him but there is a risk in that
and she doesn’t know if she should take that risk. Nicholas has always been the
love ‘em and leave ‘em type and now that there is a woman he can’t get enough
of, it scares him. He wants her but wanting her is going to make his whole life
one big clusterfuck. Nicholas and Rebecca finally take it to the next level but
with that comes problems, drama, and even worse…major feelings. This was a
great installment in a great series.
Millionaire’s
Row #3:
When the last
installment ended I was really worried. I was worried that Rebecca was going to
fall back into her old life and let Miles win. I would have been so
disappointed and there were a few times she seemed to have lost the strength
she built but there was nothing to worry about. Rebecca was and still is a
strong character. She stands up to Miles and even puts Nicholas in his place a
few times.
“I’m also dreading the possibility that with one word, she can
either shatter my world or make it complete.”
Nicholas has fallen
and fallen hard. He has come to terms with his feelings and just how deep they
go for Rebecca. He can’t give her up. Now Nicholas has to figure out how to fix
the mess falling in love with the wrong women made of his life. Nicholas is
sweet and loving as well as dominant and possessive. There is nothing but
Rebecca standing in his way to make her his.
“The funny thing is- I can’t seem to breathe without her being
near me. I’m not sure how I did it before or how I lasted so long without her,
but I need her now.”
There were so many
communication problems in this installment. Neither Nicholas nor Rebecca would
come right out and say what they wanted. They wouldn’t share their feelings.
Even when Nicholas was doing everything he could to convince Rebecca he loved
her, he never came out and said all of their problems were gone. Rebecca was so
quick to let him go that they never really talked about anything. It was completely
frustrating. I thought this was an excellent way to end their love story. My
only problem is the epilogue did nothing for me. We might as well not have had
one. It didn’t answer any of the questions left over. Like what happened with
Nicholas’s dad? What happened to the company? What is Rebecca going to do now?
There are so many questions that were left unanswered that I felt like we were
left hanging. I’m not saying there needed to be another installment but there
could have been one. I would have rather read that then been left without answers.
I really liked this
series and I can’t wait to read the coming ones of Nicholas’s sister and his
best friend. The teaser left me saying WTF?!?! I NEED THIS BOOK NOW. I will
definitely be reading more from this author.
