A
SWEET GIRL
Nicola Hart grew up under the heels of her older brother and his best friend,
Cash Garrison. Years of ignoring the spark between her and Cash didn't keep
their attraction from turning into a slow burn. Just shy of her twentieth
birthday, Nicola needs to know: he wants her or he doesn't.
HE CAN'T STAY AWAY FROM
She's his best friend's little sister. The definition of hands off. Cash has
tried to ignore her for years. Instead, he's looked at every pretty little
thing who's crossed his path, all to ignore the girl he seems destined to want.
But when half the school is interested in Nicola, it's time to stake a claim
and hold the hand of the one he really loves.
Sweet Girl is the novel length prequel to best-selling Garrison's Creed. Before
Cash and Nicola can fall in love forever, they have to suffer through their
first love.
My
Thoughts….
"Just
like she didn't have to remember to breath, loving him was a part of
living."
This
is the first Cristin Harber book I have ever read and that just makes me sad
because this book was Ah-Mazing. After I read this book I went to look and see
if there were more. I had no idea that she had books before this one. I am
obviously completely clueless. There is a whole series that this book fits into
and I haven’t read a single one of them. This
is a prequel to the Book Garrison’s Creed
which is the second book in the Titan series. I loved this book.
Nicola
is such a sweet character. Throughout the book she is trying to find a way to
forget about the love that she feels for Cash and still be his best friend. She
is also trying to get through her college years without Cash and Roman stopping
all of her fun.
Cash
has always been Nicola’s best friend. He has protected her loved her since they
met. He wants to ignore their connections because it is his best friend and his
other best friend’s sister. He tried to ignore it until he can’t anymore. Cash
makes his feelings known and leaves Nicola to decide if they should cross the
line or not. Cash has been added to the book boyfriend list.
“She was
the type of girl forever and then some was made for.”
This
book was everything. It was swoon-worthy, sweet, romantic, and it had a little
bit of action rolled into it. This was a best friends turned lovers story that
was done right. Everything was working for it. The only thing I didn’t like was
that she wouldn’t tell her brother. I know that it’s a part of all of those
stories but it drives me nuts when they do that. It’s like is your brother that much of a tool
that he wouldn’t get over it eventually. I mean how everyone can see it except the
family member. Drives me nuts.
This
story manages to bring you to such a high with the romance in this book. It was
straight-forward and fairly drama free. Both of them knew what they wanted and
they didn’t play any games to get there. Both characters were very straight
with each other with what they wanted. It was nice to have a story that was all
about the couple being a couple and not every little thing tearing them apart.
We didn’t have to see them go pull through jealous ex’s or broken pasts. All
they had to do was love each other. But being at such a high the ending was
such a crusher. I mean it was one of those where you sit there with your mouth hanging
open for a few minutes.
And because I was not aware of the Titan books I was
not prepared for it.
"One day, we get to happily ever
after."
Needless to say I went out and bought the whole
series after reading this.
