After surviving her
parents' relationship drama when her older sister elopes, Claire Gardner vows
not to date during high school. Now, three years later, Claire is thrust into
new relationship drama--her two best friends have boyfriends. Which means Claire
is spending more and more time alone. And she's more than a little peeved.
Enter Gray Langley. His year-long crush on Claire's friend Lindsey has made him desperate enough to ask Claire for help. Hesitant at first, Claire agrees--anything to get rid of Lindsey's current evil boyfriend. But as Claire and Gray plot together, an attraction develops, and now she must decide if being with Gray is worth the pain that will come from confronting her parents with the reasons for her vow.

This was a fun cute
story about the ups and downs of love, family, and friendship. Claire felt like
she had the responsibility to keep her family drama free after everything that
has happened. And now she finds herself alone more times than not, plus now she
has to help Gray get Lindsey. The only problem is she might be developing
feelings for the one person she shouldn’t.
This story is full of
teenage jokes and problems that definitely give this book a YA vibe. You can
tell the characters are not as mature as some of the other YA books that I have
read. I would say this book was more for the younger YA crowd. Claire did have
some pretty tough family situations to deal with that made her grow up a little
bit in my eyes.
I enjoyed the
chemistry between Claire and Gray even though sometimes I got really frustrated
with them ignoring it. I really didn’t like Lindsey. She wasn’t a very good
character and I couldn’t understand her behavior and attitude towards Claire.
This story was sweet
and well written. The flow worked for the most part and kept me turning the
pages. I would recommend this to any reader who is looking for a sweet clean
teen romance.
