As one of New York's Finest, firefighter Cash
Ryder is always prepared. When a woman's car skids off the side of a mountain
during a snowstorm, he's there to rescue her. Cash is totally focused on the
woman's well-being, but within minutes of getting her to safety, he realizes
that he's nowhere near prepared for the heat that rolls off of sensual,
smart-mouthed, and stubborn Siena Remington.
As a model, Siena Remington has dated some of the
wealthiest, most handsome men in the industry, and she's made peace with the
idea that most men are just looking for eye candy and they wouldn't know how to
romance a woman to save their lives. When she's rescued by a tall, handsome
stranger, she thinks that maybe, just maybe, she's found her own
real-life romantic fairy tale--until he opens his mouth and everything that
comes out is gruff, ornery, and aggravatingly sexy.
Thrown together during an annual firehouse
calendar photo shoot, the passion between Cash and Siena sizzles, and neither
one knows how to control the flames. After an evening of verbal sparring
followed by a sinfully sensual night, their darkest secrets are revealed--and
so is Cash's warm, romantic heart. But Siena's secret might be too much for
big, strong, always-prepared Cash to handle--and Siena is forced to choose
between a man who's everything she's ever dreamed of and an opportunity of a
lifetime.
My Thoughts…
“Don’t
toy with me. If I make love to you, my heart’s in it, not just my body.”
The beginning of this story is hilarious. The first
time Siena and Cash meet sucks you right in. You have no choice but to go on.
Their meeting was full of sparks. The romantic and the dislike kind of sparks.
Both Cash and Siena are moody and intense. I loved the way they interacted through
the whole book. It was much different than the first two.
Cash Ryder
He was amazing. He was torturing himself over something
that he couldn’t control and it was heartbreaking to see him go through that.
He was an alpha male to the max. But he was also a huge softy for Siena which
made him even better in my eyes. Of the three men in this series so far I think
he is second, because I just love Dex, But I mean how could he not be when
described as looking like Chris Hemsworth? He was a really understanding guy. I
mean if I was Cash I would have dropped Siena already. I mean I get that he
loves her but, grrr, she would have been gone.
Cash was really sweet to Vetta too. Made me heart all
melty hahaha. Cash was a moody, hot, fireman who already had a ton of scars. He
challenges Siena and makes her see things she is too stubborn to see. His
character was real and didn’t mess around with anyone’s feelings.
“I’ve
been around a very long time, and from where I sit, I see a couple willing to
fight for each other.”
Siena Remington
Ok this is where I have to rant a little bit. I really
didn’t like her through 50 percent of this book. Ellie wasn’t my favorite but
Siena is even worse for me. I mean I get being career driven and everything but
you clearly don’t love someone as much as you think if you are putting them
through what she did. The kicker is she knew and felt bad about it the whole
time. I hated how long it took her to see everything. I mean the freaking last
chapter. If I didn’t have that to get through I would have really liked Siena.
Anyway, Siena is beautiful, stubborn, moody, model that
is looking for more in her life. She can have the pick of wealthy, famous men,
but they don’t treat her the way she deserves. I liked that for the most part
she knew what she wanted. She wasn’t someone who was entitled and spoiled. She
wanted to model because she loved it. Not because she was vain. She was a
strong character…for the most part.
“Dude,
that’s what they do. They make you crazy; then they make you love them. Then
they make you crazy again, but by then you are in too deep to do anything but
love them more.”
All in all I really liked this book. The journey that
Siena and Cash went through was entertaining and sweet. The writing was great
as usual and the story was smooth, engaging, and the flow was really good.
There really isn’t that much I can complain about. If you haven’t read The
Braden’s series yet you get to meet them in this book. I haven’t read them but
after seeing the glimpse in this book I am definitely going to go pick it up.
