Zoe has a great pair of legs, perky boobs, and
wears exactly what she needs to show it all off. She works hard for the easy
sleazy ‘you only wish you were me’ reputation, burying who she really is—an
all-out nerd.
The only time Zoe gets to be herself is when she hides under her comforter to read X-Men comics, sending jealousy stabs at everyone who attends Comic-Con. Keeping up her popular rep is too important, and she’s so damn insecure to care about the consequences. But when Zoe’s sister takes her car for a ‘crash and burn into a tree’ joyride, her parents get her a replacement. A manual. Something she doesn’t know how to operate, but her next door neighbor Zak sure as heck does.
Zak’s a geek to the core, shunned by everyone in school for playing Dungeons and Dragons at lunch and wearing “Use the Force” t-shirts. And Zoe’s got it bad for the boy. Only Zak doesn’t want Popular Zoe. He wants Geek Zoe.
She has to shove her insecurities and the fear of dropping a few rungs on the social ladder aside to prove to Zak who she really is and who she wants to be… if she can figure it out herself.

I actually thought this book was super cute!
Zak is the nerd that lives next door. He embraces his nerd tendencies and doesn’t
see the need to hide who he is. Zoe is now the popular girl in school, who is
also a closet nerd. She literally hides her comics in a secret compartment in
her closet and hides underneath her covers when she reads them. She is in love
with the nerd next door but to keep from going to back to being bullies she has
to ignore him. That seems to be harder said than done.
I loved this book. It was a quick read that was
really fun. It’s good for those days that you want a light hilarious read. Cassie
Mae put some of the funniest sayings in this book. I was given a free copy for
a honest review so I couldn’t highlight anything but this book was super funny.
I loved the transformation that Zoe went
through. She was bullied in middle school so when she got to high school she
stopped being friends with Zak and became one of the populars. When she needs
Zak to teach her to drive a manual she learns how much of herself she is
hiding. She realizes how much of a coward she is being. She misses the nerd
things and all of her friends. She learns to except and be happy with who she
actually is.
Zak was so great. I have a thing for nerdy guys
so he was right up my alley. He gave Zoe the reality check she needed. He
helped Zoe see that she was strong enough to let the mask go and be who she
always was. He was pretty cute through the book too. I think Zoe helped Zak
come out of his shell too. She gave him the confidence to go after Zoe. It was
so sweet that he never gave up on her. I loved that they jumped through each
other’s windows. It was so funny.
This book was sweet, cute, and hilarious. I would
recommend it to anyone that loves nerdy boys and the girls they love. I can’t
wait to read the next one!
