In New York Times bestselling author Rachel Gibson's newest novella, Vince Haven and Sadie Hollowell are headed to the altar, and all their friends are headed to Lovett, Texas, to join them for the party of the year.
But Becca Ramsey
doesn't have time for all that. Fresh out of beauty school, Becca's all
business … and the last thing she needs is bad boy Nate Parrish anywhere in her
life.
In the past, Nate
was trouble. He's been trying to repair his reputation—heck, he's even got just
one girlfriend. The problem is, she isn't Becca. Now Nate's in a whole lot of
hot water. He needs to get Becca from "I won't" to "I do" …
but how can he do that when she won't even say "I might"?
This novella was
short and sweet. It was also a great way to catch up on the characters that you
may have read from the other books. I haven’t read any of the other books from
the Lovett, Texas series but this was also a great way to get introduced to the
world and it’s characters.
The story opens
with Becca getting ready to meet Sadie to plan her wedding hair. Becca always
seems to pick the wrong men. She goes after the ones that like to cheat on her.
So when she sees Nate she tries to run in the opposite direction. When Nate
asks her to the lake she agrees only to be left even more confused than before.
Nate has managed to get himself a bad reputation but now he’s trying to change
all of that. He now has a steady girlfriend and a job he loves. The day he
meets Becca she turns his world upside down. He doesn’t know why but he has to
know her, even if he shouldn’t.
Becca and Nate’s
little novella is short and sweet. We also get POV’s from previous characters
and we get Sadie and Vince’s wedding. If you follow Rachel Gibson and her
Lovett, Texas series this novella will be perfect for you. You get to catch up
with all of the characters plus you get Becca’s love story. I would recommend
reading the series before this though. Even though I didn’t and enjoyed it, I
think it would have been better if I knew and cared about the characters. The
writing and pace was something that I liked and a reason to pick up more of
Rachel’s books!
