Melissa Petreshock, author of Fire of Stars and Dragons, is
here to share her Top 5 Fashion Styles for her book as well as her dream cast! I am so excited there are definitely some yummy guys!
Following the death of her uncle, twenty-one-year-old
CAITRIONA HAYDEN finds herself in the midst of a trio of quintessential alpha
male suitors in 22nd century sovereign America where human females should be
seen and not heard.
Theo Pendragon claims her as his ward, ordained to guard her through to a long-awaited destiny unbeknownst to Cait, but finds more than he expected when passion ignites within the dragon for the first time. Always drawn to the pursuit of knowledge rather than the heat of desire, powerful demigod Dante cannot deny everything his future holds in Caitriona. America's monarch, ancient vampire Corrin, has no interest in the frivolity of love, yet marrying Cait could be the answer to his continued survival.
Soon, Cait goes from studying for college exams to choosing a husband knowing the consequences are eternal, the love undying, and the bond timeless.

Top 5 FIRE OF STARS AND DRAGONS Fashion
Styles
Fashion may not be the first thing you
think of when you read the blurb for FIRE OF STARS AND DRAGONS, and it probably
wouldn’t be if you read its reviews either, but I guarantee if you pick up a
copy to read, you’ll find yourself wondering.
The various characters in FOSAD, from main
to secondary and beyond, each have unique personalities through and through.
This isn’t just in the way they speak and act, but in their sense of style.
Some of them have more of it than others.
Me? I’m no fashionista. I’m a yoga pants
and hoodie fan, preferably with flip-flops.
Now, since I won’t claim to love any
character more than another, these are in alphabetical order, with five
characters and five styles (either specific to a scene or just them) to go with
them. For your visual enjoyment, I’m including the “dream cast” to go with
these characters.
#1- Cait
Being of a high society upbringing, Cait
has a great sense of style, yet she’s often found in jeans and barefoot as
often as possible. She’s no snob, but when the occasion calls for it, she pulls
out all the stops and knows how to turn heads. At the Gilroy Children’s House
Fund gala ball, Cait drops jaws dancing in this dress when most women opt for
staid and classic black.
(On a personal author’s note, this was the
first picture of a character’s clothing choice I found, and the one that never
changed in any revisions of the book from my first draft. No matter what, this
has always been my vision of Cait’s dress.)
As for the dream casting of Cait? It took
me a long time to find someone I thought had the right mix of youth and
innocence with femininity and strength, someone I could see pulling off both
the demure Cait and the kick-ass Cait. In the end, Anna Popplewell won me over.
#2- Claaron
Even as a secondary character, Claaron
quickly became a fan favorite with my beta team. Some are in love with him
while others just want to take him home and make him their BFF. However you
feel about Claaron Graywyne, you should get used to his taste now. This dragon
is the epitome of fashionisto, and as you get to know him even more in book 2…
OMG. If you want a man who will shop with you, this is your dragon. But, even
the most stylish man will have his favorites in his closet and for Claaron,
that is his long, gray, tweed overcoat. (The rest of this would appeal to him
as well, though his taste ranges widely.)
And ooh, dream casting for Claaron
Graywyne? Well, with the variety of characters in FOSAD, you can bet they
aren’t all the same age in appearance, despite this being a New Adult novel.
When Claaron shifts from dragon to human form, he prefers a more mature look,
but despite his suave fashion taste, he has a rough edge to him. Finding
someone to fit that was easier than I thought once I ran across pictures of my
favorite The Walking Dead actor clean rather than all dirty (yet still sexy) as
Daryl Dixon. Be still, my fangirl heart! HELLO, Norman Reedus! He is a sexy god
of arm porn among men, and he is my Claaron Graywyne.
#3- Corrin
King Corrin dream cast? I was a tortured
soul over this one for a long time, but my BFF showed me the light. She’s such
a fangirl of all things supernatural, and thanks to her watching Teen Wolf and
Arrow, Colton Haynes became the one and only vampire king of United Sovereign
America.
#4- Dante
Dante is not your typical demigod. Okay,
not really anything in FOSAD is much of your typical anything. He’s elegant,
intellectual, and soft-spoken, though undeniably powerful. He isn’t
over-the-top in any way at all. This demigod is rather unassuming in his
stature and demeanor, but something about him still exudes strength. His style
is similar. He prefers clean and simple, classic and tasteful. You’ll never
find Dante in a pair of jeans, instead wearing various types of trousers. Dante
will usually pair these with a solid-colored French-cuffed button down (and
beautiful silver or sapphire cufflinks) or some variation of a cashmere or silk
shirt in the style of this particular look, which is very much the way I
visualize him dressed when visiting the Gilroy Children’s House.
As for dream casting this yummy demigod?
With his particular physical characteristics- the stature, the otherworldly
blue eyes, and dark hair, in addition to the fact Dante leans toward a
Celtic/Scottish accent for certain reasons I’m not revealing, there has only
ever been one choice for my Dante. Anyone else fangirl over James McAvoy?
Because I do. Talk Scottish to me, Jamesy boy. Yum.
#5- Theo
Want to know who I dream cast as Theo
Pendragon? I’ll admit, this was difficult. I mean, what man can live up to
being a shapeshifting dragon? Then I was all HOLY TAYLOR KITSCH. And I maybe
drooled. I definitely fangirled a lot. You should see the collection of
“inspirational” pictures I have of him. I recently found this one on Pinterest
and decided Taylor has Dissociative Identity Disorder. He really IS Theo
Pendragon and doesn’t realize it.
